Pritchitts scoops top industry award for innovation

Millac Cappuccino Milk has been awarded the Best New Food and Beverage Product at Northern Ireland's largest commercial event for the catering, hospitality, food and drink sectors, IFEX, held in Belfast last week.

Aimed at cafés, bars and restaurants serving coffee, Millac Cappuccino Milk promises to make the perfect cappuccino and latte by giving a consistent foam, traditionally only achieved by outlets employing a fully trained barista.

The secret to the product rests with 12 months of development work at Pritchitts Knowledge Centre in Newtonards. The product tastes just like fresh milk, gives the same frothy head customers have come to expect when ordering a cappuccino or latte but has a host of operational advantages. For example, it can be foamed and stored at room temperature eliminating the need for refrigeration - which is at a premium in most outlets.

Robert McDonald, chair of judges, comments: "What stood out about Millac Cappuccino Milk was that it was unique and that it takes the element of doubt away to guarantee a better end result. There are a few times each year when milk won't froth because the diet of the cow has changed and therefore the fat content is too low. Millac Cappuccino Milk gives businesses a stable product that is easy to use and affordable as it costs the same as fresh milk. It just proves innovation doesn't have to come at a huge price."

Millac Cappuccino Milk can be used in all milky drinks including tea, hot chocolate and milkshakes.
